‘HE WILL GET IT RIGHT!’ Ally McCoist Makes Major Nuno Sacking Admission After West Ham’s Humiliating Defeat to West Brom

Ally McCoist Backs Nuno Espirito Santo as West Ham Come Under Pressure After West Brom Defeat

Ally McCoist has thrown his support behind West Ham United manager Nuno Espirito Santo, insisting that the Portuguese coach deserves more time despite growing pressure following the club’s disappointing defeat to West Bromwich Albion.

The Hammers suffered their second consecutive Championship defeat on Saturday after losing 3-1 at home to West Brom. The result has seen West Ham slip to eighth in the league table, raising fresh concerns among supporters about their promotion ambitions and Nuno’s ability to deliver the expected results.

Frustration was evident inside the stadium, with sections of the home support expressing their anger through loud boos at both half-time and the final whistle. With expectations high following the club’s return to the Championship, questions are increasingly being asked about whether a managerial change could become necessary.

However, former footballer and talkSPORT pundit Ally McCoist believes it is too early to consider dismissing Nuno.

Speaking during a discussion with Jeff Stelling on talkSPORT, McCoist was asked whether the West Ham manager should be worried about his position.

He responded by suggesting that there was no immediate danger for the Portuguese coach, while acknowledging that the defeat against West Brom should serve as an important warning.

McCoist said he still expects West Ham to achieve their objectives but warned that promotion would not come easily. He also expressed confidence that Nuno has the ability to turn the team’s performances around.

Is Nuno Espirito Santo Facing Growing Pressure at West Ham?

West Ham’s consecutive defeats against Southampton and West Brom have understandably increased frustration among supporters.

The Hammers entered the campaign with expectations of challenging for automatic promotion, making their recent performances particularly disappointing. Losing against two teams with similar ambitions has also raised questions about their consistency.

Nevertheless, there is still plenty of football to be played, with 33 Championship matches remaining.

West Ham currently have 22 points from 13 matches, averaging 1.69 points per game. That return would have been sufficient to secure a top-five finish in two of the previous three Championship seasons.

There is still optimism that the team can improve as the players become more comfortable with Nuno’s tactical approach and develop a stronger understanding on the pitch.

The Portuguese manager also has a squad with considerable quality and the experience needed to compete for promotion.

However, expectations at West Ham remain extremely high, meaning results will ultimately determine how long the club’s hierarchy continues to support him.

Nuno Must Deliver Results to Secure His West Ham Future

Although an immediate managerial dismissal appears unlikely, Nuno cannot afford to allow the disappointing run to continue for much longer.

The quality within the squad means West Ham are expected to challenge for a place in the automatic promotion positions rather than struggle for consistency.

Their upcoming fixtures against Cardiff City and Blackburn Rovers could provide an opportunity to respond positively and restore confidence among supporters.

However, both opponents possess attacking threats capable of causing problems, meaning Nuno will need to ensure his players are fully prepared.

The international break will follow those fixtures, potentially giving the West Ham hierarchy an opportunity to assess the team’s progress.

If the Hammers fail to secure positive results in their next two matches, the pressure surrounding Nuno could increase considerably.

For now, McCoist believes the former Nottingham Forest and Tottenham manager deserves time to correct the situation. However, with promotion expectations firmly established, the West Ham boss knows that improved performances and results are essential to keeping his position secure.
